An old-West story of a man who was framed but who refused to be hung.
This is a typical western in the period of the Flying U stories; in fact, the Flying U enters slightly into this novel.
The story is about a personable, too trusting, young rancher whose ranch was stolen from him and who found himself hiding out with a price on his head.
How he escaped his pursuers and resisted the pressure to become a real outlaw makes a story that is punctuated both by gunfire and humor and ends with a satisfactory proof of the adage about the last laugh.
