Instructions for Searching the OU Online Catalog

To search the OU online catalog for Manuscripts and Photographs, please follow these steps:

1. Click once on the "Advanced Search" button
2. In the "Format" box, select "Manuscripts" from the drop down menu. This will retrieve both photo collections and manuscripts collections.
3. Click once on the "Search" button and your results will be displayed.
4. Click once on the "Details" button to see the catalog entry.
5. Click once on the "Change Display" button.
6. In the "View of Records" section, select "All" and click on the "OK" button. This displays the entire record summary.

Tips:

• For all possible hits on a person, place, or event, type your search terms in the "Search Everything" box.
• To limit your search to manuscripts only (no photographs), use the "Title" box to enter the type of material sought, i.e., "Papers", "Diaries", "Printed Materials", etc. You may use "or" as a connector between types of materials.
• If only photograph collections are sought, "Photoprints" should be entered into the "Title" box.
