Transportation Manuscript Collections

Located in Monnet Hall on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus, the Western History Collections include research materials relating to many aspects of the history and culture of the American West, with special emphasis on Oklahoma, the Southwest, and North American Indians.

Transportation materials in the Western History Collections include twenty-five collections relating to railroads in Oklahoma and the southwest, aviation and air transport in the U.S. and Latin America, and development of roads in Oklahoma. These materials date from the 1860s to the 1980s, and are supplemented by photographs of railway rolling stock, and aircraft in the Western History Collections Photographic Archives.
